About the Chalet
Villa Tamerza is a large, chalet-style house in the heart of the French Pyrenees. It can accommodate up to 12 guests in its five bedrooms and offers all the facilities expected of a high-quality holiday rental, including a swimming pool (for use in warm months only) and tennis court.
The sitting room is large and very cosy, with a big open-hearth fireplace, comfortable sofas and arm chairs, TV (English and French channels), Hi-Fi, DVD Player and wireless broadband internet connection. Logs are available for the fire for which we charge a small supplement. The kitchen is fitted with a gas hob, electric oven and grill, microwave and dishwasher. The dining room seats 12+ comfortably, around two big wooden tables. There is a terrace overlooking the pool with a table and bench-seating.
There are three bedrooms on the ground floor. Two have comfortable super kingsize beds and beautiful views towards the mountains and surrounding woodland and the third contains four full-size bunk beds suitable for adults or children. There is a large bathroom on the ground floor with bath, shower, double basin and WC. There is also a separate WC.
On the first floor there are two more large double bedrooms with very comfortable super kingsize beds, a bathroom with over-bath shower, a shower room and a separate WC. Both upstairs bedrooms have French windows leading out onto verandas.
There are extensive gardens around the chalet in which is situated a swimming pool and tennis court (hard court) for exclusive guest use. There is ample parking for several cars, as well as the double garage. Sun loungers and chairs are available for guests.
The house has a large basement/cellar with laundry room, double garage area and a large utility/games room. The laundry room has a washing machine and tumble dryer and there is a double sink. An iron and ironing board are also available for your use.
Bagneres-de-Bigorre lies to the south of Tarbes, mid way along the A-64 autoroute between Toulouse and Biarritz. Coming from the UK, in addition to ferries/Eurotunnel to Calais, there are also ferries from Plymouth, Portsmouth and Poole to Cherbourg, Caen, Le Havre and St. Malo in northwest France, offering driving routes down the western side of France, and also to Santander and Bilbao in northeast Spain, from where you can drive across the border into France to pick up the A-64 autoroute.
There are a number of flight options to the region from many airports in the UK as well as Dublin in Ireland. Whilst subject to change, the following airlines currently operate flights to either Toulouse, Pau or Tarbes-Lourdes airports:-
